42 Hounds Mongoose Update
Some of you know that I painted 42 hounds a few cats and a handfull of odd animals to give away for the a2a group. a2a.
One of my Secret Art Agent pals in Portland Oregon dropped off one of my odd animal paintings for me. This little mongoose can be found at a super cool bird shop in Clackamas Oregon. Thank you to the Backyard Bird Shop and my secret art agent pal!
The mongoose is in that little basket under that matted art and above the ceramic mushrooms (how perfect is that?):
Up Close shot-there is the tiny mongoose...that I was by the way-told looks more like an anteater.

21 Grams
I painted this one when thinking about the idea that the soul might have a physical presence and that it could weigh 21 grams. Apparently in the early 1900's a doctor named Duncan MacDougall tried to weigh the human soul. Mostly his experiments didn't turn out to well...but at least one showed the sould weighed 21 grams.

Community
I live in a place where everyone that works at the post office knows my name. And I know theirs. We say hi-how are you? And mean it. When I go grocery shopping (which by the way is 20 min. away) people chat about what is going on in the area while they pick out vegetables. They are pleasant. They say excuse me when they forget their cart in the middle of the isle. They don't seem to chat about such and such-if you know what I mean. Small but not uncomfortably so.
My -town- has a post office, a tiny grocery, and a car repair place. That is it. (The grocery is in the next town over). I don't live in -town- though. I live down a long forested (for the most part damn them) road. Almost at the edge of the Pacific Northwest Universe.
I used to live in a place that talked, published, and claimed a lot that they were a community. And I lived with a person that pretended to be a partner. In that universe the people were not what they claimed to be. People were mean to their neighbors and were interested in the greener grass next door. In this little universe the grass is a beautiful color and so is the moss, and the squirrels are plentiful. Here is to people and places that are nice and real.

Tower of Babel with Bees
This is a 9x4ish watercolor of the tower of babel. The biblical tower of babel may have been based on the ziggarat of Marduk. The ziggarat of Marduk had seven multicolored levels-each one corresponded to a different planet. In this image the bees represent souls which are ascending. Take a peek at in my ebay store.

I have a million dollars!
I have a million dollars! A million dollars! Yup. Ok so they are SAND dollars. But there are a million of them! At least. The tide was farther out than usual today and we found a huge sand dollar bed right on our beach. They are so cool when they are alive! These ones are almost a purple color.

Reed's Ginger Candy and edibles
Ever had one? Reed's Ginger Candy it is fabulous and addictive. Hot, spicy, sweet...mmmnn. Love em. Tonight for valentines day I made a gluten free chocolate cake using a Pamela's brand mix. It was SO good! Better than most wheat flour cakes. I made frosting by melting some organic dark chocolate bars that had almonds in them. I also had (for the first time) a uber good Belgian Framboise Beer (malt beverage with rasperries added). Wow was that yummy.

Brenda Dayne ROCKS
Brenda Dayne of Cast-on dot com was nice enough to buy a piece of my work. Even cooler though-she mentioned me in her PODCAST! Holy Cow! For those of you who know what a fan I am of podcasts and her's in particular you know how cool this is for me. Thanks Brenda-really. You rock! To listen to the podcast click the cast-on link. She mentions me in Episode 10. Her podcast is wonderful even if you don't knit. She is a thoughtful writer and a heck of a person.
Moondog and the Magi
This is something new that I did on vacation. Around the moon is a -moondog- that I saw on vacation. (A ring) The magi are the little baboons with red pointed hats. Their hats point towards Venus.
