4th Street Gallery in Manzanita Oregon

Starting in mid May I will have some work at the 4th Street Gallery in Manzanita Oregon. Unfortunately they don't have a website I can link.

This is new work that I think will end up there...

Art studio on wheels 1

This spring and summer I will be doing a lot of painting outside. I have turned my Toyota 4Runner into a studio on wheels.

There is a little bunky bed for the dogs


And a bag full of supplies


This past weekend this was the view from the studio on wheels

Roadside Snack

I happened to have a beautiful ripe mango and a ripe avacado left and on the way home from Oregon I turned it into a nice snack at a state park. I even had a few California Strawberries.

I used freshly baked (still a little warm) polenta bread from a bakery in Manzanita called Bread and Ocean.

Manzanita is just a few minutes from Canon Beach and is much quieter.

Dogs on Vacation

I think my blue heelers sleep and lounge more than any other blue heelers on earth...here is my proof.

Spontanious Vacation~Manzanita

One of my favorite things to do is run off to the Oregon Coast. It is especially fun when it is spontanious. Getting away from the dishes and the laundry to paint and paint, spend time with my dogs and my significant other-it just doesn't get better than that. Usually I stay someplace funky and cheap. But my favorite splurge are the Coast Cabins in Manzanita Oregon. They are not right on the water, but they are so comfy you won't mind. Super soft sheets, yummy coffee, handmade soap, and a super friendly staff makes this a wonderful vacation spot.





They even have beta fish in the rooms. This one kept me company while I worked.

Easter Visitors

We had the nicests guests at our house this year for Easter...but they didn't help with the dishes.


They are a bit hard to see but those are the first quail we have seen in our yard. They moved like they own the place though so I assume they have been here before. To the left are some of the pots of fresh herbs I am growing. I have a couple varieties of oregano, mint, chives, garlic chives (although our orange cat ate most of them before I had a chance to plant them), and rosemary. I am hoping to plant some dill and other herbs this weekend.

For Easter dinner I made a Martha Stewart recipe 60 clove garlic chicken. I added shitake mushrooms and carrots when I roasted the chicken. I also made small artichokes with tarragon butter, and a toasted baguette with dill and coarsly ground salt.


I also made a simple apple cake that I served with a mango sauce and fresh strawberries.


Kalli is a little over 3 months old and as you can see from the photo she likes to help my other blue break up sticks.
