I originally did the drawing for this piece last fall when I was inspired by local scenery when I was on a chanterelle mushroom hunting expedition. I finished the color work on this piece for the Caledon show.

I have come to appreciate most those small quiet moments like the first hint of a spring breeze that travels quickly past my nose, or the song of the frogs returning to the pond after a long winter. This is one of my many pieces that is meant to be an archetypal representation of those simple moments in our life that illustrate the beauty and simplicity of a centered connection with that which is eternal.

Openings and new puppies!

Puppy update: Kalliope comes home on Thursday! Whoot.

I have been super busy on second life. The artists of studio33 had our grand opening at our studios on soho this past weekend. We did great and had a blast. Four of us have another opening on cetus at our formal gallery there this Sunday 2-4. I also have a solo show in Caledon Victoria City on Saturday the 17th 12-4. Stop on by if you are on second life! I have created close to 40 new works for this show. A little over 1/4 of them are Steampunk themed. I will be offering them for sale first on second life and then they will be available here on my blog or via ebay.

Kalliope at 6 weeks

We get to pick her up sometime later this week! Yay! Here are picks from the last visit a week ago.

This one is of Mars and Kalli..we fell in love with this little red boy and almost brought him home too...we are trying not to!

We are hoping that bump on her belly is an outy belly button...anyone an expert?

Tank Girl!

Puppy Power! Kalli at 4 weeks

Here she is...Miss Kalliope at 4 weeks. I should have more photos of her soon..and we bring her home in only 2 weeks! Why Kalliope? Kalliope is an M-type asteriod belt named after the Greek Muse of Epic Poetry Calliope...and Kali is a powerful Hindu Goddess. We decided on the spelling Kalliope to encompass all these things.

Group shot. You can see why it is so hard to chose only one! Kalli is at the far left...the other female the runt is in the front and the other three cuties are boys. I am still very charmed by Mars the red heeler center front.

Where am I? I have a Second Life!

You might be wondering where the heck I have been. Or maybe you haven't noticed that I haven't posted lately? I have been working online in a game called Second Life. I don't really think of it as a game personally...because I am using it to promote my art and chat with my art pals. But anyway if you are into it you can find me there! I am 713 Ayres.

This is a photo of my working studio/gallery on a sim called Soho. I share it with Katat0nik.

And I also share this tattoo shop with Katat0nik. You can find it on the sim Evalua in the Akasha shopping district.

The perfect valentine..

The perfect Valentine! If your partner is a bit of a freak.

Skeleton Valentine

A New Baby?!!!!

Well...it looks like we may have a new addition soon to our already large hairy family. I helped a blue heeler find it's way home recently. The grateful owners have offered me a puppy from one of their other dogs litters. The puppies are two weeks old right now.

Puppie Pile

I am deciding between the runt who will probably have the usual blue heeler markings similar to the blue heeler I have now

Or a little girlie pup who may have neat spots on her coat...not sure about her coloring yet though

Tag~How Weird Am I?

I was uhm...tagged by my friend Crystal. Now it is my turn to tell you all 6 weird things about me. The problem is that I am so weird I have no idea where to start.

1. I make art almost every day. Yes this might sound lovely..but imagine the things I put off in order to do so. My house...is...not...normal.

2. I take over every available surface and fill it with my crap. I mean my art. crap.

3. I am a hermit.

4. I have limited use of my left arm. Ok maybe this isn't weird, but a lot of people don't know that about me.

5. My best friends (besides my blue dog) are all online. Hey give me a break I said I was a hermit.

6. I would rather give than receive.

I tag Sal, Fran, Orangie, Stacey, Adri.

Visit to Port Townsend

A group of us from Kingston Art Gallery drove up to Port Townsend for the day to look at other co-ops and have lunch. I had the best mocha (bowl sized) at Sweet Laurette. The food was fabu!

Kingston Art Gallery Anniversary

We celebrated our first year anniversary at the co-op. I made a few...er...several treats. The ones near the trees Barabara made. Thanks Barbara!

Ho Ho Ho early

I received a bit of an early Christmas present. Some beautiful green plates and green and orange mugs. To celebrate I made a roast chicken to put the plates to use.

Wintersong~Sarah McLachlan

Those of you who know me in person probably know what a HUGE Sarah McLachlan fan I am. I started listening to her way before it was cool. I just downloaded her most recent album Wintersong. It features perhaps the most beautiful cover of Joni Mitchell's "River" ever. Sometimes I wish I had a river I could skate away on myself.
